Amber enjoys success

Amber Doggett is a self-motivated young women going places in the show ring. During this past season Amber has exhibited at nine regional shows in the Auckland and Northland areas with success in both the handling and beef classes.

By her own admission she is obsessed with Limousin having been introduced to the breed and the art of showing by Richard and Bridgette Wells (Stonebridge Limousin) in 2013. Her preference is for French pure. She started her stud, Ambee Limos, two seasons ago with a cracking calf called Jana to rear and show as her own. Amber has recently increased her stud with the purchase of two cows and heifers from Bob Neill to form a nucleus of proven genetics.

The recent Franklin Show was arguably her most successful show this season winning the yearling heifer class and going onto be awarded Reserve Champion female. Amber also won the Senior Handling at this show.

At the Auckland Easter Show Amber gained 3rd Beef Type and 2nd Senior Handling which is very commendable given the competition.

Amber intends to increase her show team and will be working on halter training two further yearling heifers over the winter purchased from another stud.

Amber is focused on developing a career in agriculture and her studies are focused on achieving this. It is great to see a New Zealand youth member achieving success with Limousin.
